In the last school year, Project Connect identified 3,051 children experiencing homelessness—a 25% increase from 08-09. Together, Project Connect and Faces Without Places provided 9,985 services for those students—a 55% increase. These services include, but are not limited to, the following:
Taxi service for 113 students (65 in 08-09)
This is often the only option in getting children to school.
Birth certificates for 35 students to enroll in school (11 in 08-09)
These records are often lost when families move 7-8 times a year.
Uniform vouchers for 998 students (752 in 08-09)
As more and more schools move to a uniform policy, more and more families in poverty struggle to meet this requirement.
Backpacks and supplies for over 1,064 students (830 in 08-09)
Starts students on the right foot, with the resources they need to participate in school.
After school enrichment for 616 students (419 in 08-09)
Zoomates benefitted students at Hays-Porter in the West End, Young Women Writing for a Change worked with youth at Aiken, West High, and Woodward High Schools, and youth at the Lighthouse Youth Crisis Center benefited from tutoring and enrichment programs.
Payless gift cards for 599 students (145 in 08-09)
Having a new pair of shoes that fit your feet is often a luxury for some of our families.

Our 8-week camp focuses on reading and experiencing our community, including Kings Island, the Reds, city pools, museums, and rafting, to name a few.
